The world famous ceramic and sanitary ware fair CEVISAMA opened on 1st February. 78,221 visitors participated in the event, 14,923 of which are foreign buyers. It achieved the largest figure ever in its 34 editions.

1Tile Trend


Spain is well known for its pigments and glazes industries, and innovation of interior wall tile in CEVISAMA is very eye-catching.



Colors and technology of products from Spanish brand are rich and diverse. Color, such as red, yellow, blue, green, golden and silver, are used boldly on porcelain tile, accessory, handmade tile and mosaic. And the mould and diversified inkjet printing technologies make the effect of tile more vivid.



Irregular-shaped tiles, such as hexagonal tile, octagonal tile, and fan-shaped tile, also have a good presentation in the fair. However, rectangular tile is still the mainstream. 


300 X 1800(mm) wallpaper-like tile and wood tile are the innovation mainstreams of the participants. 



2Machinery and Equipment Trend


Ceramic machinery and equipment manufacturers participate in the event biennially. This year inkjet printing machine participants fill a large quota in the hall. Most of them promoted their latest products in the event.



According to Jacob, General Manager of China market, KERAJET has cooperated with some machinery companies to research and develop a full digital production line machine. This product begins with press machine, then inkjet printing machine, glazing machine, ceramic kiln, and ends with fully automated packing machine. This product will bring to China market in May this year during CERAMICS CHINA.


3Export of Spanish Tile


There are more than 180 ceramic companies in Spain, and annual output is 420 million sq. m. Export volume takes 80% of the total sales turnover, which covers 185 foreign markets. The main export market is Europe, Mid-east, Asia, North Africa and America. However, the performance of Spanish companies in China market is not so ideal, but they still consider China market as a new growth engine.



Differ from ceramic brands, most of the Spanish sanitary ware brands haven't expanded to the China market yet. Mr. CTW visited many sanitary ware exhibitions in CEVISAMA, and most of them said that they haven't had agent in China, and China market will be their key developing target in the future.
