Hundreds of Ceramic Manufactures In China Stopped Production For 181+ Days

The maximum electricity price increased by 25%, the "power restriction" affected hundreds of ceramic factories in China

At present, the world is deeply mired in an energy crisis, and many countries such as Spain, United States, India, Brazil, Japan and South Korea are experiencing an "electricity shortage".

China's ceramic industry is also facing the challenges. Due to the continuous rise in coal prices and the tight electricity supply, many provinces and cities have raised the price of non-residential electricity. Among them, the peak electricity price in Guangdong has been raised by 25%, and the cost of electricity in the ceramic industry will further increase.

So far, "power rationing" has spread to 20 provinces and cities in China, involving many major production areas of the ceramic industry. Hundreds of ceramic factories have suffered from direct shutdown, capacity reduction (ranging from 20% to 70%), staggered peak production, power restriction in different periods, etc.


Guangdong:

Implement the "open two days then stop five days", "open one day then stop six days" and other power consumption policies. Many production lines in Qingyuan production area were required to stop and limit the production.


Guangxi:

The output of Guangxi ceramic industry in September should not exceed 50% of the average monthly output in the first half of the year. Many ceramic enterprises in Teng County production area once shut down all production lines for several weeks.


Hunan:

More than 20 production lines in Yueyang production area have been shut down.


Shanxi:

28 ceramic companies in Jincheng area will suspend production for 25 to 181 days. The earliest production suspension date is October 1, 2021, and the latest production resumption date is until April 1, 2022.


Shandong:

The two ceramic production lines in Yishui County will stop production from December 10, 2021 to February 20, 2022 for 72 days. And according to the practice of previous years, Zibo and other regions will successively announce the notice of off-peak production.
